Hack humax foxsat

So yes recordings, scheduled recordings remaining is as expected. Ensure the Humax is permitted to access the internet in your router settings etc. Most likely reason for the error. Last edited: Oct 23, I have not altered any firewall settings on the router and the freesat box has been working fine with the web interface for many years.

I can also confirm from logging into my router that the Humax foxsat hdr is indeed connected to it by veifying its MAC address of ab-aa. Hi all I used the putty client from windows 10 andwas able to contact the HUmax box. It is asking for a password. Is there any way I can move further using a client like this or maybe winSCP? What is the default username and password?

I can ping the Humax Foxsat from my windows10 machine and no packets are lost. I don't know how to get into the Humax box with a client to try to ping outwards though. I have tried to do the upgrade four times now all to to avail but what I have noticed is that after the cript runs it says success but then switches the Foxsat box into standby mode even though it looked like it was starting up sucessfully.

A furth press on the front power button brings the box back up again with the software sayining it is loading during boot but I still get the message from my windows10 browser the hpkg. Good so far! I can ping Is this i DNS problem I wonder. Any ideas on how I might progress with the problem?

I have found that I can ping using the telnet session to any address on my home wifi and any address worldwide as long as I use actual numbers for the address but any attempt to ping say www. Can anyone wiser than me in these matters shed some light please? I assume you mean hpkg.

Very strange I will have a think but would suggest the following anyway. Shutdown, wait 2 mins, disconnect power for 5 mins and restart. It is not possible for you to ping from the Foxsat. Can be done with an installed script or via telnet. I would try changing the dns on your router to 8. Then reboot the router and then the foxsat, after the router has finished booting.

Hi Just to clarify what I was trying to say. If or when your Humax HDR Receiver fails then you will be looking for ways to retrieve your old recordings. Many Humax forums explain how to transfer recordings to and from the built-in hard drive but generally assume that the receiver is working normally and that the USB connection is functioning. However, what if the receiver is faulty, won't playback, doesn't even boot up, or the power supply is faulty?

This page explains how to connect the internal Humax drive to an external PC and attempt to retrieve all the lost recordings. When an over the air update is applied the Humax still works, but the web interface and all the add-ons stop working. The can be solved by waiting for the custom firmware to be updated which happen remarkably quickly and then re-flashing the custom firmware.

All the add-ons should start working again. So is it dead and if so, how do I go back to what I had before? Can I recover from another machine? I had no problems just downloading it from the link in the relevant thread over on AVForums. Ah, yes - thanks for your rapid reply. I was trying to keep the post short. Repeated the full process still zilch. Calming down a bit, my earlier observations were flawed. I get to here:- Welcome, and congratulations on successfully installing the custom firmware.

You are seeing this page because the full web interface is not yet installed or essential components from a previous installation are corrupt or missing. You must now install, or re-install, the full web interface in order to continue. A telnet service will also be installed to provide additional command line access. This service can later be disabled or removed, as required. Ensure you are connected to the Internet then click on the button below. The installation process may take some time, depending on your connection speed.

A status report will be displayed on completion. I clicked on the box and the display returns to my base address of the box.
