They would be the perfect superhero games except that everyone is a Minifigure. There are big open worlds to explore, a diverse set of missions, and a massive array of characters.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe saw the success of the Lego games and jumped on the bandwagon. It's a great idea to relive the films but the execution was subpar when compared to other Lego games.
The organization of missions, jumping between several movies, was confusing and jarring. The missions also did not support co-op well, leaving one player to do all the work. Ultimately, the other Lego marvel games are more refined versions of a similar product.
Lego Batman 3 is a strange step backward on what was, otherwise, a series on a roll. It reverts to the original Lego formula of linearity. The open-world hub design is gone and only the missions remain.
The missions themselves continue the formula of simplistic yet fun puzzles but it's brought together by a lackluster story with poor voice acting. Characters do get different suits, which offer new abilities, and there's a Resogun PlayStation 4 style minigame. These few additions are not enough to mitigate everything that was taken away. Lego The Incredibles has the advantage of pulling from an all-new universe for Lego games.
The game successfully captures the nostalgia of adults and the innocence of children. The campaign follows the two Incredibles movies closely but players must play the second one first.
This is a strange rule that disrupts the narrative and spoils the first campaign. The time-traveling shenanigans in Marvel Super Heroes 2 offer a unique take on the traditional formula. This makes every mission feel different and greatly diversifies the free roam experience. It also allows for different versions of the same character like cowboy Captian America. Lego games of old had trouble with making each character unique - one flaw this entry does not have.
Every character from the obscure Forbush Man to Iron Man has a distinguished set of abilities. This newest entry doesn't do anything to reinvent the wheel but it's one of the most refined entries in the Lego family.
The one new addition is a bigger focus on character creation. Here's the problem, u might want to be careful around nod thos two objects because it glitches u inside of them and then automatically start over.
